Slink into Summer

These are an ingenious idea from shoe designer Jane Rafter. In effect you get two pairs of sandals for the price of one, as each sole comes with two sets of straps or uppers. It could be gimmicky but it actually isn't. They are easy to detach and reapply and have been made with such attention to detail that there are no hard bits to rub your feet raw. Instead, the sole is actually slightly cushioned and the designs are incredibly pretty. It helps that they come in a pretty silk bag. And now available at John Lewis, Slinks is due to hit the high street near you soon. For more information, visit www.janerafter.com.

One to watch....

Now, I'm not normally one to take a shine to hats, gloves and bags that feature furs once belonging to live creatures, but Jacqueline Headlam creates beautiful items using 'vintage fur'.

For those of you wondering what the hell vintage fur is, I am reliably informed that it means the fur has not been taken with the sole purpose of creating items for Jacqueline's range, but has been around for some time.
Still morally questionable of course, but seeing as it's there, someone may as well use it, and this, Jacqueline does very well.

Her products are designed and manufactured in the UK and although they don't come cheap - we're talking £300 a hat and in the region of £250 for a bag, they are covetable items that are well made and what we like to refer as, 'investment pieces'. http://www.jacquelineheadlam.com/
